Pakistan : 21 people struck in vehical were killed in a heavy snowstorm
At least 21 people were killed in a heavy snowstorm in Pakistan's Murray on Saturday.
Most of them are tourists, officials of Pakistan's Punjab province declared Murray a disaster-prone area hours after the incident, according to Pakistan news agency The Dawn. The news agency noted in its report that at least nine children were among the dead.
The announcement on the death toll was from Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid, who said in a video message that Murray had seen unprecedented tourist footage which could have led to the incident.
The Pakistani army is conducting rescue operations with the locals. Five Pakistani troops and police officers from Rawalpindi and Islamabad and disaster management personnel are present in the town and are conducting rescue operations.
